Una domanda che si fanno in tanti, dopo i 40 concerti degli U2 alla Sphere di Las Vegas dove la band irlandese ha esplorato una nuova dimensione del concetto di intrattenimento musicale in un luogo unico nel suo genere.
Dopo la fine di '40' durante l'ultimo concerto del 2 marzo 2024 si sono susseguite numerose notizie sull'evoluzione della band, sopratutto in relazione all'infortunio di Larry Mullen Jr., presente al concerto del giorno prima, apparso acciaccato con i segni evidenti del suo stato di salute attuale.
Al tempo stesso però sembra che la band subito dopo la fine della serie dei concerti in Nevada abbia compiuto numerose sessioni a Los Angeles per ultimare il loro ultimo lavoro discografico.
Difatti insistenti rumors e notizie danno come data di uscita del nuovo album intorno l'autunno o inverno del 2024.
Tutto ciò fa presagire che nei prossimi mesi ci saranno novità importanti in arrivo, di seguito alcune tra le più importanti:

- Gli U2 stanno pianificando un ritorno live in Europa nell'estate del 2025
- Al momento sono previsti in Europa concerti solo negli stadi
- Pare che le location siano state già prenotate sia in Europa che negli Stati Uniti
- Al tempo stesso tutti gli eventi sono stati assicurati in relazione allo stato di salute di Larry Mullen Jr.
- Sono previsti dei concerti nelle arene americane a partire dall'autunno 2025
- Al momento non sono previsti shows in altre zone del mondo, quindi escluse Sud America, Asia e Oceania
- Sembra che Bram Van Den Berg sia rimasto nell'orbita della band in attesa che l'evoluzione dello stato di salute di Larry Mullen Jr., non è preclusa una sua partecipazione attiva ad ogni progetto della band irlandese
- Il film sui concerti degli U2 alla Sphere è in fase di lavorazione, i concerti ripresi sono quelli del 23 e 24 febbraio, il film sarà trasmesso in esclusiva alla Sphere e avrà una durata di un ora circa

Gli U2 ai Grammy 2024 in diretta dalla Sphere di Las Vegas

Per la prima volta in assoluto ai Grammy, gli U2 si esibiranno in una performance in broadcast dalla Sphere di Las Vegas.

La band irlandese infatti nella data del 4 febbraio prossimo, saranno tra gli artisti ad esibirsi in occasione della manifestazione ma, a differenza di tutti, la loro performance sarà non in presenza ma dalla Sphere di Las Vegas.

Insieme agli U2 si esibiranno anche Burna Boy, Billie Eilish, Billy Joel, Dua Lipa, Luke Combs, Olivia Rodrigo e Travis Scott.

Il 26 gennaio (venerdì), gli U2 pubblicheranno digitalmente il loro album Achtung Baby in versione Dolby Atmos su Apple Music, Amazon Music e Tidal.,
In occasione di questa uscita è possibile assistere, se vi troverete a Las Vegas giovedì 25 alle ore 16.00 alla prima riproduzione del disco con questa tecnologia, allo ZooTv Cinema situato all'interno del Venetian Casinò.

Dolby Atmos è il nome di una tecnologia audio surround annunciata da Dolby Laboratories nell'aprile del 2012 ed è attualmente utilizzata dal servizio di streaming Apple Music.

La particolarità di Dolby Atmos è quella di poter rappresentare il suono in una stanza a 360 gradi, in questo modo è possibile vivere l'esperienza di un suono "tridimensionale". In particolare, con i dispositivi Apple come ad esempio un HomePod (o altri dispositivi compatibili con DolbyAtmos) è possibile godere di questa esperienza anche a casa propria a partire dal 26 gennaio.
